2016 Wilson Easter Mackerel Classic – Results and Story

 Team Mad Hueys Fishing (Steve Ward, Ben Job and Mat Paterson) have taken out the inaugural Wilson Fishing Easter Mackerel Classic held on Good Friday. A total of 23 teams too off in perfect conditions to see if they could and 3 Mackerel for the day. The mad Huey guys headed to Diamond Reef and located fish feeding deep on bait schools and targeted the fish using downriggers to great effect. Mat Paterson 128cm Spanish Mackerel anchored the win and also took out the prize for the biggest Mackerel caught for the day. Their combined total length for 3 fish was 363cm. The guys took home a swag of prizes including Wilson venom rods and the coveted winners shirts designed and supplied by Switchbait.
