All-Species Classic


Welcome to the Gold Coast Sportfishing Club’s 2025 All-Species Classic!

 

Get ready for another exciting year of fishing action! The 2025 All-Species Classic invites anglers of all skill levels to compete in this Offshore and Inshore event.

 

Please note, the competition will commence as an Inshore-only event if weather conditions are not favorable for Offshore fishing. The final decision will be made on Thursday night prior to the competition.

 

Event Details:

  • Cost: $95 Per Angler ($50 Junior)

  • Team Event: Teams of 2 or 3 anglers for a 2-day fishing competition

  • Dates: Saturday, Feb 8th, 2025 – Sunday, Feb 9th, 2025

  • Briefing: Friday night at 7 PM via the Club’s Facebook page

  • Token: Write the token on a piece of paper or cardboard and ensure it is visible in all fish photographs for points.

  • Where: Launch from wherever you like!

  • Presentations: At the clubhouse from 2:00 pm Sunday

  • Registration: Online Link Below

 

Start and Finish Times: (You can fish through the night, pending safety)

  • Start: 4:00 AM Saturday, Feb 8th

  • Finish: 12:00 PM Sunday, Feb 9th

 

Fish Photos: Must be submitted by 1:00 PM Sunday, Feb 9th

 

Fishing Rules: Fish only in Queensland Waters

 

Species Categories:

Inshore Species: Mangrove Jack, Trevally, Flathead, and Whiting

Offshore Species: Marlin, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, and Yellow Tail Kingfish

 

  • Only the biggest fish of each species will count towards team scores (e.g., 1 x largest Marlin per team).

  • Fish using bait, artificial lures, fly, or trolling.

  • Fish must be measured and photographed on a brag mat with the token from nose to fork. 

  • Any Marlin caught = 150 Points.

  • Prize for the best funny photo, submitted to our Facebook Community Page.

  • This is a non-sanctioned event.

  • Captures must be entered online via the Club Community Facebook Page.

  • Entries close at 5 PM on Friday, Feb 7th, 2025.
