For all submissions, photos must clearly display the fish on a brag mat with the token "GCSCFC 24/25" visible. Join us in celebrating the thrill of fishing and the camaraderie of our club as we embark on another unforgettable season on the Gold Coast waters!

  • Running from July 2024 to June 2025, anglers will compete to catch and submit 12 designated species both offshore and inshore in Queensland waters. Points are awarded based on the length of each fish, with opportunities to upgrade catches throughout the season. Awards will be given to the highest-scoring male and female seniors, as well as juniors in both offshore and inshore categories.

  • Each month features a specific target species, and the angler who submits the largest fish of that species will win a $100 voucher. This competition encourages participation throughout the year, with prizes awarded monthly.

  • For those memorable catches that aren't part of the designated species list, our Classic Catch of the Month allows members to showcase their diverse fishing skills. A $50 voucher is awarded to the best catch as voted by club members during our monthly club nights.

Points System Inshore/Offshore FAQs

  • The aim is to catch all 12 species allocated. 1 point is allocated per cm of each species submitted. You can submit any of the species at any time during the season. Once you submit a fish, you can then submit a larger one at any time during the remainder of the season. For example, if you catch a 62cm Flathead in June and submit that fish, but then catch one that measures 82cm in February, you can submit that fish and your points will be upgraded.

You can submit fish and upgrade your catches as often as you like throughout the season. All fish submitted need to be photographed on a brag mat with the token “GCSCFC 24/25” clearly visible. The length of the fish must be clearly visible to be eligible. Where a specific token has been issued for a club-sanctioned competition, these fish may be entered under that token. The champion anglers will be declared as the angler who has the highest cumulative points over the course of the season.

  • Each species has been allocated a month and the largest fish of that species submitted for that month will be awarded a $100 voucher from one of our tackle store sponsors. Entries will be taken from the 1st of each month until the last day of the calendar month. Prizes will be presented at the next club night. All fish submitted need to be photographed on a brag mat with the token “GCSCFC 24/25” clearly visible. The length of the fish must be clearly visible to be eligible. In the event of a tie, the fish submitted first (by calendar date) shall be declared the winner.

  • Entries for Classic Catch of the Month are for fish of any species that can be caught anywhere in the world and do not have to be on a brag mat. Simply submit your Classic Catch and the members will vote on the best capture at the club night. The winner will receive a $50 voucher from one of our tackle store sponsors.
