Join our “Species of the Month” Competition – It’s Easy and Fun

The Gold Coast Sportfishing Club’s Species of the Month competition has made entering your prized catch simpler than ever, giving all anglers the chance to show off their best fish each month and connect with the wider fishing community. With both Inshore and Offshore categories running throughout the year, there’s always an opportunity for members to get involved, share their experiences, and support each other’s fishing adventures.

How to Enter

Entering is quick and easy! Simply:

  1. Snap a photo of your best catch that matches the current month’s designated species.

  2. Submit your entry online HERE

  3. Join us at the monthly Club Night, where members vote for their favourite catch, and prizes are awarded!

The Benefits of Participating

For each month’s winner, a $100 voucher is up for grabs, but the rewards go beyond the prize itself. By participating in the Catch of the Month competition, anglers can:

  • Showcase their skills and share memorable catches with the club.

  • Learn from fellow anglers, exchanging tips on techniques and gear.

  • Build a personal record of memorable catches over time.

Creating a Connected Community

The competition is more than just a fun way to win prizes—it’s a platform for members to bond over their shared love of fishing. Each Club Night brings together members to celebrate their achievements, discuss favourite spots and species, and even offer advice to newer members. The Species of the Month competition has grown into a tradition that connects anglers from all walks of life, creating a vibrant, supportive community around the sport they love.

Whether you’re new to the club or a long-time member, participating in Species of the Month is a great way to get involved, enjoy some friendly competition, and contribute to our thriving fishing community. So next time you’re out on the water, remember to take that photo and submit it—you could be the next winner!
