Mackerel Classic 2025 Wraps Up with Big Fish and Fierce Competition
The Gold Coast Sportfishing Club is proud to announce the successful completion of the 2025 Mackerel Classic, held on Saturday, March 22. With over 50 anglers hitting the water, the tournament delivered an action-packed day of fishing and some seriously impressive catches.

From dawn to early afternoon, competitors fished hard, submitting their top catches via the Club’s community Facebook page and returning to the clubhouse by 2:00 PM for the official presentation.

Building Momentum for the Future
“This year’s Mackerel Classic was a fantastic display of community spirit, sportsmanship, and passion for fishing,” said Gamesmaster Trent Hopkins “From juniors to experienced anglers, it was great to see everyone enjoying the day and making memories on the water. We’re especially proud of the turnout and thankful for our sponsors who continue to support grassroots fishing events like this.”
