Club Members Enjoy A Weekend at the Clarence ABT
A great weekend was had by the club members who ventured down to the ABT Bream and Flathead rounds this weekend. Club Member Darren Borg took out first place in the super series Bream tournament. Borg finished strongly on the second day to lead the top 10 into a top 10 shootout on day 3. 
With his 1 kg plus lead bag on day 2 Dizzy knew if he held his nerve and bought a bag of 5 back to the scales he was looking good for a win. With all going to plan Dizzy took out the winners cheque. Flathead fishos too enjoyed the spoils with Team TT Lures Tracey Mammen and Christine Hunt finishing a close second to Flathead Classic regulars team Bush and Beach Keith & Chris Stratford, only 4cm separated the top 2 teams. Tracey and Christine fished the Maclean reaches of the river seeking out current flow, cleaner water and structure along the banks. Small fish were certainly the order of the day with the biggest flathead on measuring 53cm. Father and son pairing Danny and Cooper of Team Sands finished 5th boating 5 fish including a matching size flathead to the biggest caught on the day. Team Liive Vision Daniel Hickey/Justin Phillips took out 6th place.
All up a great weekend where club members taking on the the mighty Clarence River.The river has so much to offer and is so accessible to anglers. A real mixed bag of species were caught over the weekend including; Bream, Flathead, Jew, Tailor ,Cat Fish, Flounder and our Junior anglers Cooper Sands and Jake Neilson even got to enjoy taking on a few fiesty salmon.
