Day 2 at the Classic

A sunny day was a real treat for anglers fishing the 2nd day of the tournament. The N/NW wind didn’t seem to worry anglers too much other than the dirty water  this teamed with big tides meant that it was a key strategy to find the clear water to find the fish. The best performing teams favored the shallower areas to find good numbers with Plastics Paranoia  boating a 90cm Gem which was the best fish of the day. The deep areas didn’t seem to fish as well and besides a couple of rippers caught by a bait fisho the largest I saw netted was in the 70’s.

The southern end of the Gold Coast seems to be fishy well for tournament Senior leader Shane ‘piggy’ Gartner who has maintained the lead on day 2. Likewise Team Dead Fishy has maintained and even stretched their lead on day 2 With all 3 anglers performing well. Dead Fishy didn’t have a lot of pre-fishing time on the water but this has not hurt them at all.  Hot on their heels is Team Sands brothers George ‘The dugong’ and Danny along with their Uncle Kevin scored great numbers of fish using a combination of casting and trolling the team made a charge on day 2.

Anglers were treated to a nice cold drink from our on water marshals and they were a welcome sight at a hot time of the day.
