National Recreational Fishing Conference 17-19 August Gold Coast

Casting Towards Tomorrow-Keep Australia Fishing is the theme of the 2012 National Recreational Fishing Conference, to be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre between 17–19 August. The conference will be one of the most significant events on the Australian recreational fishing calendar and will provide a forum of discussions that will chart the course for the future of recreational fishing.

The National rec fishing conference, which will be on the Gold Coast in August this year is designed to provide a forum for rec fishers to come together from around Australia to talk about issues and opportunities that we are facing in coming year.  With a focus on devloping us  a shared vision for the future of rec fishing in Australia. The event is funded through the Recreational Fishing Industry Development Strategy by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, and the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation, and will include keynote speakers from Australia and overseas, as well as practical workshops, an ABT Pro-Am tournament (on the Friday), and will be followed by the AFTA tackle tradeshow (which conference delegates will be able to go and check out).
