Da$h for Ca$h Flathead Rescheduled Nov 25th

Due to popular demand we have rescheduled the Dash for Cash Flathead to November 25th . You may be aware we had to cancel the October date due to a severe weather warning.

 * please note the committee have decided to include trolling in the Dash for Cash 1 line per angler

 The 2012 Dash 4 Cash Flathead comp rescheduled to Sunday 25th November. We would love to see a field of 50+ boats for this event and we think 1 month after the Classic will bring out the Flattie Chasers. With plenty of notice we hope our out of town supporters make a weekend of it, pre fishing on Saturday and fishing othe comp on Sunday. We will run the event from the Volunteer Marine Rescue Base on Seaworld Drive where the bar will be open post the fishing. (Bar supports VMR).

When: 25th Nov

Where: Volunteer Marine Rescue Base Seaworld Drive. Drive past Seaworld resort first left  to Boat ramp and VMR base.

 Register: On the Day Format: 2 Man Teams comp , register from 6.00 am side gate entry to VMR,Launch your boat and put it on the beach the gate is close to the shipping containers for the outrigger club, the briefing is close to the beach. Gate on beachside south of boat ramp.

 Briefing 6.30-6.45. Field away 6.45-7.00am. Back to Base by 2.00pm

 Cost $120 per team (including lunch and drink )

Payout: Depends on size of field more teams more cash full details TBA 50% of Entry goes back to field, Donation made to VMR for use of facilities.

It is a condition of entry to this competition that all anglers compete at their own risk and that by competing in this event you explicitly agree that The Gold Coast Sportfishing Club Inc the organising committee and their associated sponsors will not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any person entering into this competition.

The Gold Coast Sporfishing Club promotes the ideals of good sportsmanship, ethics, and integrity. All competitors should demonstrate  respect for participants and officials. Any angler not able to compete under these conditions may be excluded from the tournament and future events.

ABT Flathead Rules

BOATING RULES
• • Boats are to have the necessary safety equipment for the waterway being fished.
• Boats are to be insured  

• Breach of any of these rules may incur disqualification from the session or event.
FISHING RULES
• Cast and retrieve, lure and fly only -trolling is now included, no bait, no berley.
• It is mandatory that anglers use mesh nets with no knots when landing their fish, as these have
  been scientifically proven to have minimal impact on released fish.
• Anglers are to take two photographs of the landed flathead – one with the angler and the fish (that will be
  used on the website) and another of the flathead on the Brag Mat (for catch verification), showing the entire
  fish, event identification icon, and measurement. Fish are to be measured with a closed mouth and
  rounded up to the nearest centimetre.
• Each teams best five flathead  count towards the point score – one point per centimetre.
TOURNAMENT RULES
• There will be no pre fish ban in place.
•Session-specific score sheets and key-tags will be issued as boats are checked out in the
  hour before the start. At the checkout, ABT officials will be checking;

• Key tags are to be returned to the tag board by the allocated fishing time of the event. Each angler in the
  team will be penalised 10cm per minute late penalty until 15 minutes after the allocated finish time.
    At that point, both anglers’ catches will be disqualified and a 150cm penalty applied.
• Anglers are then to return their catch sheets and digital camera media to the weigh-tent where staff
  will collate catch sheet data and post results. Camera media cards can be collected from ABT officials
  prior to the presentation.
EVENT CHECKLIST
• Digital camera and sufficient battery power for the tournament PLUS your download cable in case
    there are compatibility issues.
• PFD (type 1,2 or 3 is OK)- please ensure you also have the mandatory number of Type 1s.
